DORCHESTER, Mass. - Dr. Eubanks entered into rest April 13, 2015 at Brighams and Women's Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Lealon Green and the late Josie Floyd Green. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Eubanks. Soon after moving to Roxbury, Massachusetts, she became a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she served as a member of the church choir and trustee board. Through the years, she would run trips to New York to see off-Broadway plays and participate in other fundraisers in order to raise money for the church building fund and to purchase the building next door. These endeavors contributed to the church purchasing the old nursing home which is directly next door to it. She sang for many years in the church choir until she began to have vocal cord issues. She then decided to concentrate on being a better trustee while serving at Pleasant Hill. She was also a long time member of the church's Pastor Aid Club. Ann Marie Eubanks attended Four Mile Elementary School in Meyers Mill, South Carolina. She then attended Bettis Academy and Junior College in Trenton, South Carolina. She went on to attend Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina where she earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education, Psychology, and Business Education. Later, she earned a Master of Art degree from Boston State College in Boston Massachusetts in Education, Counseling, and Psychology. Later she pursued advance studies from Boston University, Simmons College, and Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. She also received an Ed.D from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Massachusetts in Educational Administrative Leadership. Ann later did post doctorate work at Harvard College and the University of Massachusetts at Boston. Ann taught school in three states: South Carolina for two and a half years, New York for two and a half years, and Boston, Massachusetts for thirty five years. Ann spent the most of her life in the classroom learning and teaching with equal pleasure. She was a lifetime member of the Boston Branch of the NAACP and a lifetime member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (Golden Soror) Psi Omega Chapter. Later in life, Ann served on the council of the Boston Elderly Affairs Commission. She participated in the Grove Hall senior empowerment coalition as well as the Boston Public Health Commission Reach coalition. She was also a member of the Franklin Park/ Grove Hall Area Chapter #4685.
