STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Ann R. Favor, former longtime resident of Augusta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2015. Nana, as she was affectionately known by her family, was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Augusta and a former Cub Scout leader in the community. She had resided in the Atlanta area since 1994 after the passing of her husband Sam W. Favor Jr. Mr. Favor was a captain in the Army and a civil servant at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Mrs. Favor was an Army wife, homemaker and mother. She was preceded in death by Mr. Favor and her daughter Nancy Susan Favor. Among the family members that will celebrate her long life and mourn her passing are her son Sam W. Favor III and wife Karen W. Favor; granddaughter Elizabeth Favor Barrett and husband Michael Barrett and great-grandson Brody Barrett of Buford, Georgia; grandson Drew Favor and wife Kate Favor of Alpharetta Georgia; and great-grandson Jackson Favor and granddaughter Bryn Favor Smith and husband Noah Smith and great-grandson Gavin Smith of Ooltawah, Tennessee. Mrs. Favor's family will gather at Chance and Hyrick Funeral Home Thursday, February 26 and she will be interred at Hillcrest Memorial Park with her husband and daughter and many close friends and neighbors who have gone on before her.
