AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Archie Blair Norris, son of the late Henry Norris and Eva Norris, entered into rest on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at University Hospital. He is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-nine years, Mrs. Lee Eunice Frails Norris; two sons, Zachary Edmund Norris (Faye), and Archie Bernard Bernie Norris (Karon); four grandchildren, Crystal, Ryan, Kirby, and Ashton; one great grandchild, Jayla Faye; three brothers, Henry Norris (Janie), Clarence Norris, and Solomon Hood (Sandra); one sister-in-law, Dorothy Allen; three brothers-in-law, Edward Frails (Betty), Leroy Simpkins, and Donald Reese; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Archie attended Immaculate Conception Academy, and served four years in the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge, and later started his career with the Graniteville Company. He retired in October 1982, after twenty-five years of faithful service. His passion for cooking led him to a long career of catering and bartending. Because of his love of the game of basketball, Archie played and coached many young people throughout his lifetime, impacting their lives in a positive way. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel (Paine College Campus). Interment will be in the Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens on Deans Bridge Road. W. H. Mays Mortuary, 1221 James Brown Boulevard, Augusta, GA 30901 (706) 722-6401.
