SYLVANIA, Ga. - Barbara Watts Bailey of Sylvania died Thursday, September 24, 2015, in Augusta, GA. She was born March 28, 1933, in Portsmouth, VA to the late Allen H. and Thelma Conaway Watts. She grew up in Guyton, GA, graduated from Guyton High School and attended Armstrong State College in Savannah. There at Armstrong, she met her late husband, Harry B. Bailey, Jr. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law: Elisabeth Anne and Terry Takats, Chesapeake, VA; sons and daughters-in-law: Harry B. III and Ruthie Bailey, Decatur, GA, Thomas Allen and Carla Bailey, Johns Creek, GA, and Matthew Watts and Cheryl Bailey, Germantown, TN; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Bailey will be held Sunday, September 27, 2015, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home with Rev. James Dominey officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Sunday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Screven County Library, 106 Community Dr., Sylvania, GA 30467 or to Friends of Screven County Animals, 632 W. Ogeechee St., Sylvania, GA 30467. Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home of Sylvania is in charge of all arrangements. (912-564-2331)
