Padgett, Jr. JOHNSTON, S.C. - Funeral services for Mr. Bennie L. Padgett, Jr., 58, will be held at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Johnston at 1PM, Friday, June 24, 2016. Pastor Lewis Burt and Rev. Richard Padgett will preside over the services. There will be no viewing at the church service. Bennie was a lifelong resident of Saluda County, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Bennie L. Padgett, Sr. and the late Mary Helen Williams Padgett. Mr. Padgett was a member of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Graniteville Mill, Hickman Division where he worked for thirty-five years. He was currently employed by Milliken & Company, Johnston Plant as a Senior Machine Operator in warp replacement for ten years. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Finley Padgett of the home; three sons, Bennie L. Padgett III of San Antonio, Texas, Sedrick Jones of Columbia, South Carolina and Brian Finley of North Augusta; two sisters, Mary Padgett (Tuxberry) Suber of Columbia and Thelma Padgett-Burno of Beech Island; four brothers, Larry D. (Vernell) Williams of Johnston, Randy (Myra) Padgett of Trenton, Dennis (Lona) Padgett of Ridge Spring, and Douglas (Sharon) Padgett of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; a special niece, Melissa Williams-Corley of Aiken; five aunts, four uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends.
