WARRENVILLE, S.C. - Mrs. Bessie Mae Cooper Chipley, 91, wife of sixty-three years to the late Mr. Ray V. Chipley, entered into rest on Sunday, January 11th, 2015. Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mattie Mills Cooper. She formerly owned and operated Chipley's Florist. Mrs. Chipley was member of Langley United Methodist Church, where she was affiliated with the United Methodist Women, Young at Heart and was also a Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Augusta Floral Association, was a substitute teacher at LBC, was on the board of the Horse Creek Valley Memorial Park, was on the Literary Council and was a volunteer at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. She enjoyed baking cookies and making crafts. In addition to her husband and parents, family members include her children, Diane (Robbie) Lowe, Charlotte, NC, Tim (Evelyn) Chipley, Warrenville, SC and Patrice (Stephen) Sullivan, North Augusta, SC; brother, Monroe (Nora) Cooper, Conyers, GA; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, January 15th, 2015, at 2 o'clock at Langley United Methodist Church, Langley, SC, with Pastor John Williams and Pastor Frank Copeland officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Johnny Crook, Carlus Kight, Ronnell Smith, Rufus Barrett, Clay Chipley and Glynn Chipley.
