AUGUSTA, Ga. - Ms. Betty Joyce Perry was born in Augusta, GA to Deacon Leroy Perry and Mrs. Minnie Ruth Perry. She entered into rest on Thursday afternoon, June 16, 2016. She was baptized at the age of eight at the Daniel Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Waynesboro, GA. She faithfully served in the Church Choir and Sunday school. She lived as a servant of Christ throughout her life. She attended A.C. Griggs Elementary School and T.W. Josey High School. She was a 1975 graduate of George P. Butler High School. Betty obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Augusta College in 1980. She was employed at Elanco, an Eli Lilly Division, as a Lab Technician. Betty leaves to cherish her memory: her parents, Deacon Leroy Perry and Mrs. Minnie Ruth Perry; four brothers: Johnny Hicks (Cindy), Fredrick Douglass Perry, Leroy Perry Jr., and Gerrell Perry; five sisters: Gloria Jones, Jacqueline Perry, retired R.N. (devoted caregiver), Marcia Perry-Whipple, Cathy Green (Derrick), and Donna Perry; a devoted nephew, Desmond Sanders and a loving great-niece, Ariana Scott, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving family and friends. A celebration of life will be 12:00noon, Monday, June 20, 2016, Daniel Grove Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Ga., with Reverend Ronald Cudger officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today (Sunday), June 19, 2016, from 4 to 5:00pm at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road. (706) 790-8858
