HARLEM, Ga. - Mr. Billy F. Neal, Sr., 71, beloved husband of the late Bettye "Jewell" Welch Neal, entered into rest on Monday, October 12, 2015, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Old Union Baptist Church with the Reverend Rodney Bodiford officiating. Interment will follow in South Harlem Memorial Gardens. Mr. Billy was born in Augusta, Ga. to the late Freeman and Bernice Williams Neal. He was the owner of Neal's Garage and Wrecker Service. He was a devoted family man and was the kind of man that never met a stranger. Mr. Billy enjoyed Bluegrass music and collecting antiques. He was a member of Old Union Baptist Church. Survivors include daughter, Beverly Neal of Lincolnton; his son, Billy F. Neal, Jr., of Asheville, NC; two brothers, Bobby Neal (Sandra), North Augusta and John Edward Neal (Rosemary), of Grovetown; one sister, Elaine Higdon (Wayne), of Harlem; several nieces and nephews and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Bettye "Jewell" Neal. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Higdon, Kevin Neal, David Hand, Sonny Welch, and Jesse Welch.
