SALUDA, S.C. Funeral services for Charles Robert "Bob" White, 88, will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Salem Baptist Church, Hwy. 194, Saluda, SC with Rev. Jarrod Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will received friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Ramey Funeral Home in Saluda, SC on Friday, May 8, 2015. Mr. White died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 peacefully with his children by his side. He was born on October 26, 1926 in Weston, West Virginia to the late Glenn Hamilton and Frances Catherine Rexroad White. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War as a Navy Corpsman PHM3C and later in the Navy Reserve as a HM3. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Eugenia Nicholson White, children, Dusty (Judy) White, JeNeann (Karl) Adams, Wayne (Liz) White, and daughters-in-law, Gerri White and Libby (Bruce) Oberstar, ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a sister, Marjorie Sargent. Mr. White is predeceased by his two sons, Robert Steven "Steve" White and Jon Reginald "Regie" White, and brother, Gene Hamilton White. Mr. Bob served as a member and treasurer of the Hollywood Ruritan Club and was a member of Salem Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon Emeritus. He owned and operated N & W (Nicholson and White) Grocery for forty-two years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, church softball, water skiing, and singing in the church choir. He believed in taking care of his fellow man and witnessing to others about the salvation from his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The family would like to pay special thanks to his church, Mrs. Frances Easler, Dr. Ralph Riley and staff, Saluda Nursing Center and staff and DCI Dialysis Clinic.
