WADLEY, Ga. - Mr. Bobby "Sonny" Wayne Gaston, 81, resident of Wadley, died Monday night at his residence. Mr. Sonny was born in Jefferson County and had lived here all of his life. He was the son of the late Robert and Effie Gaston. Mr. Sonny was a member of Local 150 Plumbers Union and a member of the Wadley United Methodist Church. He was a member of the United Methodist Men. He was a graduate of Wadley High School and had served in the National Guard. He loved the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish and watch the Atlanta Braves every time they had a game. He was ready to meet Jesus. Funeral services for Mr. Bobby "Sonny" Gaston will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. from the Wadley United Methodist Church with Reverend Chris Shumaker, Reverend Franklin Sasser and Reverend David Boggs officiating. Interment will be in the Wadley City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Sam Gaston, Al Gaston, Josh Gaston, Greg Gaston, James Gaston, Tommy Sheppard, and Larry Purvis. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the United Methodist Men, members of Local 150 Plumbers and Steamfitters and Lyman Gordy, Bill Brake, Skeet Deriso and Mark Moxley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wadley United Methodist Church or to the Wadley United Methodist Men in memory of Mr. Sonny Gaston. Survivors include: wife, Julia M. Gaston; sons, Bobby Wayne Gaston, Jr. (Robin), George Harold Gaston (Debbie); grandchildren, Al Gaston, Josh Gaston, Sam Gaston, and Elizabeth Gaston; great-grandchildren, Skylar Gaston, Emmi Gaston, and James Gaston; brothers, Roy Gaston and Jack Gaston.
