LINCOLNTON, Ga. - Mr. Bobby Eugene Rachels, Sr., 72, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Wills Memorial Hospital in Washington, GA. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Loco Baptist Church with Raleigh Long, Jr. and Rev. Marty Pinion officiating. Burial will be in the Rachels Family Cemetery at 1172 Rachels Rd. Serving as pallbearers will be Racy Wells, Brad Hefner, Adam Sasser, Kevin Hefner, Van Williams, Shane Williams, Ronnie Johnson, John S. Williams III, John Treadwell and Glen Treadwell, Jr. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joe Racy Wells, John S. Williams, Jr., Scott Spivey, Judson Laxenby, Walter Palmer, Howard R. Hefner and William C. Mullins. Mr. Rachels was the son of the late John Patman Rachels and the late Elizabeth Reville Rachels of Augusta, GA. He was a brickmason and a cattle farmer. Mr. Rachels was an avid coon hunter and he also enjoyed tending to his honey bees. He was member of Loco Baptist Church and was a loving husband, daddy and grandpa. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Charlotte Cawley Rachels; one daughter, Christa Rachels Padgett of Lincolnton; one son, Bobby Eugene Rachels, Jr. and wife, Hollie of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Rachels, Cason Chalker, Marlie Chalker, Mallie Chalker, Barrett Knox Padgett, Laramie Rachels and Caitlyn Rachels; two sisters, Faye Hornsby and husband, James of Appling, GA. and Betty Byrd and husband, Roger of Grovetown, GA.
