LOMPOC, Calif. - Carolyn Denise Palmer, 49 years of age entered into rest on August 22, 2016 at her home in Lompoc, Ca. She was a former resident of McDuffie County. She was born in Waynesboro Ga. to Willis and Cecilia Hooks. She changed her career to work in EMS. She obtained her EMT and Paramedic license and also worked as a 911 Dispatcher. She later work at the Region VI EMS office in Augusta Ga. She helped with coordinating, training and teaching recertification courses for EMT's & Paramedics under the Director Mrs. Cobb. She later received her R.N. degree and worked at McDuffie County Hospital ER and in Shock Trauma ICU at AMC in Augusta. She later became an agency nurse and moved to Lompoc California. She has taught hundreds of people in EMS so that they could help others. A great number of people are alive today because of her skill and love for the medical field and her fellow man. Ms. Palmer is survived by her two beloved sons, Orion and Brandon Palmer and an affectionate ex-husband. Her beloved mother Mrs. Cecelia Hooks. And loving sister Stella Thomas and her nephews Nathan and Mark Thomas and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father Mr. Willis Hooks. She had a private funeral service at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Warthen, Ga. Eulogy by Gary Palmer. Pastor Tim Powell officiating. Donations can be sent to the Children's Hospital of Ga.
