Catherine Perrin Baker, entered into rest on June 18, 2017. Funeral service will be held on today at The Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 12:15. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Garden. She was born on October 14, 1926 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Fred and Bessie Perrin. She attended Haines Normal and Industrial Institute before starting her work career at the then Camp Gordon. She later was employed by Kendall Corporation and Augusta Leisure Homes Nursing Facility. Catherine was married to the late Johnnie A. Brown who passed away at an early age. Six children were produced from their union. Catherine and Johnnie converted to Catholicism in the early 1950's and raised their children in the faith. She was later married to the late William H. Baker who also became a devout Catholic and Knights of Columbus. Catherine was affectionately called "Kitty" by many family members and friends. She was known for her faith, strength, loving ways and endless generosity. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and gardening. On several occasions she was awarded her neighborhood's "Yard of the Month" award and was known as "Mother of Cambridge", the last neighborhood in which she resided. She was preceded in death be her oldest son John A. Brown. She is survived by sons: Martin W. Brown; Frederic D. (Loleevee)Brown; Kenneth D.(Bobbie) Brown; daughters: Carolyn B. (Ernest) Terry and Patricia Denise B. Brown; sister: Wilhelmina F. Perrin and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren other relatives and friends.
