AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Charles L. Bland entered into rest on Monday, March 7, 2016 at his residence, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2526 Lumpkin Road with Reverend Thomas Walker, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Walker Memorial Park, Augusta, Georgia. *The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Those left to cherish his memory include: a devoted friend and companion, Emma E. Lowery; two daughters, Veronica L. Bland and Apostles Drs. Ardena (Kenneth) Johnson; one son, Eric L. Bland; like a daughter, Lisa Allen Johnson; like a son, Joseph "Lucky" (Tamika) Thomas, Jr., all of Augusta, Georgia; five sisters, Fannie Bland Strickland of Augusta, Georgia, Minister Mary Bland (Michael) Weeks of Rialto, California, Cathy Bland Ashley, Joyce Bland Montgomery, and Marlene Bland, all of Augusta, Georgia; three brothers, Alfonzo Bland of Jacksonville, Florida, Percy E. (Megan) Bland of Atlanta, Georgia, and Thomas E. (Cassandra) Bland of Washington, D.C.; one sister-in-law, Charlene Bland of Trenton, New Jersey; three granddaughters, Alexis Bland, Randaysha Bland, and Kenitra Johnson, all of Augusta, Georgia; two grandsons, Eric M. Bland and Kenneth (Chiquita) Johnson, Jr, both of Augusta, Georgia; three aunts, Viola Anderson of Charlotte, North Carolina, Lucy Heath of Hazel Park, Michigan, and Alma Bland of Hephzibah, Georgia; three uncles, Charles T. Cofer, Roosevelt Bland, both of Augusta, Georgia, and Joseph Cofer of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. W. H.
