AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Charles Ricky Newsome, known to all as "Pops," died at the age of 63, on February 4, 2016. Born November 13, 1952, in Augusta, GA, he was the son of Lillian Rebecca Benson and the late Titus William Newsome. He was truly a devoted father, son, brother, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father and his brothers, Ronald Newsome, Jimmy Newsome and Bobby Newsome. He is survived by and will always be loved by his mother, Becky Youngblood; his son, Chris Newsome and his wife, Tessa, of Windsor, SC; his brothers, Richard Newsome and his wife Kathy of Evans, Michael Newsome, of Martinez, GA, and David Youngblood, of Augusta, GA; and his grandchildren, Tyki Sanderson, of Woodville, AL, Alex Ortiz, of Augusta, GA, Brianna Mason, of Aiken, SC, Haley Roberts of Windsor, SC, and the late Sean Scanlan. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 13 from 3-4PM at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley, SC. Memorial services will follow at 4PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Pop's memory to The Salvation Army, 322 Gayle Ave., Aiken, SC 29802.
