AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Charlie Reese, 90, beloved husband of Mrs. Faye Cook Reese, entered into rest on Monday, May 9, 2016 at his residence with his wife at his side. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors this Thursday, May 12, 2016, at 2:00 PM with Dr. Dwayne Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Reese, a native of Glascock County, was the son of the late Claude and Mary Coleman Reese. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and retired from Swift & Co. (Conagra) after 35 years of service. Charlie was a member and former active deacon of Calvary Baptist Church and served as Sunday School Secretary for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Dorothy Fordham Reese; his brother, Lester Reese; and a sister, Lonie O'Neal. In addition to his wife of 17 years, Faye, Mr. Reese is survived by his daughter, Jane R. Johnston (Johnny) of Evans; his granddaughter, Jana Johnston of Grovetown; his grandson, Jeffrey Johnston (Malinda) of Evans; three great granddaughters, Hannah, MacKenzie and Lily Reese Johnston all of Evans; his sister, Clara Callan; brother, Roy Reese (Frankie); sister-in-law, Juanita Reese; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be, Richard Cook, Kevin Cook, Jeffrey Johnston, Thomas O'Neal, Jason Faglier and Johnny Johnston. The family would like to thank Trinity Hospice for their care of our loved one. Also, a speical thanks to Dr. Robert Price, Dr. Devesh Patel and Dr. Alex MacDonell, for their special care over the years.
