NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Graveside Services for Mr. Curtis D. Choplin, 83, who entered into rest June 18, 2016, will be conducted Thursday morning at 11 o'clock in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Dr. Mark Sterling and Rev. Sherrell Dunn officiating. Mr. Choplin, son of the late Geneva and Devert Choplin, was born in Butler, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma State University and was an electrical engineer at Savannah River Plant until his retirement. Mr. Choplin was a war veteran and member of Curtis Baptist Church for 52 years where he taught Sunday School. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Fancher (Gary) of Stillwater, OK. Survivors include his wife of 58 years Mary Jean Choplin; a daughter, Donna C. Hartshorn (Bill), Winter Springs, FL; a son, Curtis D. Choplin, Jr. (Lisa), Westminster, MD; four grandchildren, Kathryn Hartshorn, Steven Hartshorn, Parker Choplin and Brynn Choplin; a sister, Virginia S. Moody (James R.), Appling, GA; two brothers, Jimmie Choplin (Joyce), Glencoe, OK and Troy Choplin (Belinda), Glencoe, OK; a number of nieces and nephews.
