AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. David Harry Adams, 89, former resident of North Augusta, died November 18, 2014 at the residence of his son and daughter- in-law in Augusta, GA. After attending the University of Georgia, he began his career as a United States Postmaster. After his retirement, he earned his Master Gardeners degree in 1992 and was awarded Life Membership in 2002.He was a Garden Club lecturer and served as Past President of the Greater Augusta Daylily Society. He was also a member of the North Augusta Artists Guild, and Dawson Lodge #68, F &A M. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was an associate teacher of the Stillwell Sunday School Class and a member of the Wisdom of the Ages group. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, in 1994. He is survived by his daughter, Jane Adams of Atlanta, GA; his son, David Earl Adams (Suzette) of Augusta, GA; grand-daughters, Laura Ashley Adams of Augusta, GA, Mallory Adams Smalley (Christopher) of Lincolnton, GA; great-granddaughter, Caroline Spence Smalley of Lincolnton, GA; Sisters, Anne Adams of Covington, GA, Margaret A. Wallace (Gene) of Mansfield, GA, and Doris A. Jones of Winder, GA; sister-in-law, Alice Adams of Rutledge, GA; and nurse companion, Emma Anderson. Memorial services will be held at 2pm Friday, November 21, 2014 at Westover Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at 1pm in the family room at Westover. Reverend James D. Dennis, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Benevolence Fund.
