"Don" LOUISVILLE, Ga. - Mr. James Donald "Don" Branum, age 82 of Saint Clair Road, formerly of North Augusta, died Monday morning, August 17, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 22nd, in the Republican Baptist Church, Clarks Hill, SC, with Rev. Lance Thomas and Dr. William Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be the deacons of the church. A native of Leachville, AK, Don was a son of the late Samuel B. Branum and Clyde May Simpkins Branum. He was the founder of Branum's Sewing and Vacuum Center on Washington Road in Augusta, GA, where he worked for 25 years before retiring. Don was a member of the Republican Baptist Church for 23 years, where he served as a Deacon and sang in the choir. Mr. Branum is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mrs. Billie L. Branum of Louisville; daughter, Rebecca L. Davis of Louisville; sons, Steve D. Branum of Oxnard, CA and Mark A. and Linda Branum of N. Augusta, SC; and sister, Iantha Edwards Stoller of Springfield, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, August 21st at the funeral home and on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the service in the church.
