JACKSON, S.C. - Mr. Donald Royce Vaughn, age 84, husband of Mrs. Gloria Vaughn, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Platt's Crawford Avenue Chapel with the Reverend Gregory Williams officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. In addition to his wife, Mr. Vaughn is survived by his children, Donald Eugene Vaughn, Sr. (Sabrina), Angelique Vaughn Price (Gunther), Kenneth Wayne Vaughn, Kimberly Vaughn Birchmore (John), Jennifer Lynn Salvo, and Belinda Gail Stampley; his ten grandchildren; and by his eleven great-grandchildren. Mr. Vaughn served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict with the US Army. He served as a Sniper and participated in the Battle of Pork Chop Hill. Mr. Vaughn loved wood working and building remote controlled airplanes. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, and playing sports with his six children. Pallbearers will be Charlie Pharr, Justin Salvo, Hunter Johnson, Scott King, Donald Vaughn, Jr., and Steven Snead. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, July 24, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
