SWAINSBORO, Ga. - Durden- Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Doris F. Sutherland, age 90, of Swainsboro, GA on Wednesday, January 22, 2015 at Pruitt Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Franklin Sasser officiating. Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening 5-7 PM Pallbearers are Jamie Blackwell, Anthony Nicholls, Brandon Smith, Freddie Allen, Johnny Poulan and Cooper Fields. Mrs. Sutherland was born in Wadley, Jefferson County, GA on April 3, 1924, was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, The First Baptist Church Augusta, GA, where she was also a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and the Bartow Missionary Society for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Daniel R. Futral Jr. and John F. Sutherland; daughter, Lynne Futral and grandson, Loren Glenn Bryant. Survivors include: Two Daughters: Nancy Atkins (David) of Swainsboro, GA and Miriam Bryant (Loren) of Eastman, GA; One Son: Daniel R. Futral III of Lacombe, LA; Nine Grandchildren: Leanne Bryant (Rick), Jennifer Purrough (Jerry), Kelly Burch, Bryan W. Futral, Samuel E. Futral, Daniel Rogers Futral IV, Krista Atkins Nicholls (Anthony), Lauren Atkins Nathan (Kyle) and Haley Atkins Blackwell (Jamie); Eight Great-Grandchildren: LCpL Grant Little, Ryan Little, PFC Daniel Smith, Katie Durrence, Chip Burch, Bryant Burch, Knox Nicholls, Allie Fair Nicholls, numerous nieces, nephews and extend family.
