EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. - Dorothy (Dot) Deaver Fiveash, 90, formerly from Aiken, SC, passed away on November 27, 2015. She was the daughter of James Oscar Deaver and Evelyn Vance Deaver. Her husband, Charles O. Fiveash, predeceased her by 11 days. They had been married 69 years. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Jernigan and her husband, Jerrel; her son, Cliff and his wife, Colleen, and two granddaughters, Bailey Watt (and her husband, Stephen) and Kelsey Fiveash. Having grown up in Brunswick, Georgia, she attended Glynn Academy. After World War II, she assisted her husband, Charlie, while he was getting his bachelor's and master's degrees. For her efforts, she was awarded the PHT (putting husband through) Award by Georgia Tech. She was a loving and caring wife and mother and known for her bridge playing skills. She will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Aiken, SC, with a reception and visitation following the service.
