HEPHZIBAH, Ga.- Mrs. Edith Louise Smith, native of Edgefield, South Carolina, raised in Philadelphia, Pa., entered into rest Monday, April 18, 2016. She graduated from West Philadelphia High School with high honors and recently enrolled in college at the age of 65. Edith became the owner of Edith Alterations. Mrs. Smith was a member of Broadway Baptist Church where she served as an Usher. Mrs. Smith leaves to cherish fond loving memories with her daughter, Crystal (Kerry) Welch; grandchildren, Markiba (Markiek) Gibson, Markisha (Dequincy) Gilkey, Travis (Alicia) Phiniezy and Keshone Pointer; nine great grandchildren; lifelong and dearest friend-sister, Audrey Hardwick; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins that were loved dearly. A private memorial service will be held in her honor. The family extends their heartfelt "Thank You" for love and support shown during Mrs. Smith s illness and passing.
