THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Ellen K. Kennedy, 92, widow of Mr. Hugh Dorsey Kennedy, died Wednesday, July 1, 2015, in the University McDuffie Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 3, in Thomson Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Richards officiating. Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Kennedy was a native of Glascock County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. She was retired from the Thomson Co., Sears, and the Thomson Bus Depot. She was a member of Thomson Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Thompson and her son, Hugh Kennedy. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Wayne) Dupree, Thomson; four sons, Ken (Cindy) Amerson and Larry (Faye) Chalker, both of Thomson, Jim (Patty) Kennedy, Watkinsville, and Roger (Mary) Kennedy, Augusta; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ralph Starling, Joey Allen, Bob Boswell, J.W. Rabun, Kenneth Usry, and Stephen Palmer. Friends may call at the Curtis Funeral Home.
