Retired Captain Elmer Rodger Singley born in Prosperity, South Carolina to the late Rodger and Willie Mae Wise Singley, entered into rest Sunday, February 26, 2017. His early education was completed in the Newberry County School System. Elmer received a Bachelors degree from The University of Maryland and a Masters degree from South Carolina State University. Elmer proudly served his country by enlisting with the United States Army and retired after twenty three years as a Captain. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Neomi Singley.

Mr. Singley leaves to cherish fond loving memories with his children; sons, Charles Singley, Michael (Joan) Boyd, Ken (Annette) Hill and Juan Singley; daughters, Tresa Procotor, Greta Toland, Ewana Singley-Davis and Aylmer Singley, eighteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; sister, Betty Singley; brothers, Carl (Shirley) Singley and Ray (Jackie) Singley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.

A celebration of life will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 4, 2017, Hannah AME Church, 116 Deadfall Road, Newberry South Carolina with Reverend Earl Clark, officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors.

The family will receive friends this evening ( Friday) from 6 to 8:00 p.m at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, 3618 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta. (706) 790-8858
