AVERA, Ga. - Frances McGahee Bradley, 80, loving wife to the late Charles E. Bradley, entered eternal rest Tuesday evening, June 9, 2015 at Jefferson Hospital in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at Waldens United Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 13, 2015 with Rev. Tommy Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. One of sixteen children, Frances was born to the late Lois Allene Humphrey McGahee and the late Lindsey Clifford McGahee in Avera where she grew up and graduated high school. After marrying, she moved to Waynesboro, living there until 2009 when she returned to Jefferson County. Frances worked at Uniroyal in Thomson and retired as a dispatcher from the Burke County Sheriff's Department. She faithfully served her Lord at Waldens United Methodist Church. Frances had a great love for her church family, and her family-especially all of her nieces and nephews. Her unselfish, abiding love will be greatly missed. Frances is also preceded in death by twelve of her siblings. Survivors include her step daughter, Helen Mayo; step granddaughter; three step great grandchildren; three brothers, Harold S. McGahee (Marie), D. W. McGahee, and L. Fay McGahee (Ann); and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews with honorary pallbearers being her great nephews. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Waldens United Methodist Church, c/o Patricia Kitchens, 1304 Hadden Pond Road, Avera GA 30803.
