AUGUSTA, Ga. - On the afternoon of March 21st Frank Edwards III went peacefully to meet his maker at University Hospital. Born February 27, 1964, Frank was a lifelong Augustan and graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School with a zest for life and an abiding love for his family and friends. As a dedicated small business owner, Frank always provided service with a smile and developed lasting friendships with his many customers. As a proud father of seven children, Frank always sought to lead by example through his hard work and his unwavering commitment to honor and integrity. A longtime employee of Mr. Alonzo P. Bruz Boardman, Jr., Frank's loving devotion to Mr. B was displayed daily as Bruz's constant companion and trusted friend for more than a decade. With his positive attitude, his smiling face and his always sharp style, Frank leaves behind a community which he loved and that loved him. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Frank Edwards Jr., his brother Troy Edwards and his sister Linda Bullock. Frank is survived by his brothers, Freddie (Monica) Edwards, Bernard (June) Edwards, Vernon Edwards, Grady Edwards and Kenneth Edwards; his brother-in-law Jackie Bullock; his niece Jackquline Edwards; his wife Arica Edwards and his children, Frank Jr., Alicia, Brandon, Breanna, Onwen, Frank III and Alice. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26th at Mays Mortuary from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel at Paine College at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 27th followed by the interment at Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. Frank's brothers, his nephews and Mr. David S. Deke Copenhaver will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Georgia Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. W. H.
