ANDERSON, S.C. - Gary Barton Pye, 57, of 107 Ashton Lane, died unexpectedly Monday, December 24, 2012 at his residence. Born September 17, 1955 in Fort Lewis, Washington, he was the son of the late Walter F. and Burma Jean Robbins Pye. He was a 1974 graduate of Harlem High School in Harlem, GA and attended Augusta Tech. Mr. Pye was a Senior Applications Analyst in Medicaid IT Services at Clemson University. He was a member of Sierra Baptist Church and a former member of Boulevard Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Karen Broadwell Pye of Anderson; two sisters, Jeannie Pye Willcox and husband, Jon, and Deborah Pye Nunley and husband, Ken, all of Harlem, GA; one half brother, Richard Johnson and wife, Mary of Kingsman, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessie Marie Pye. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Sullivan- King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Dr. Johnny F. McKinney. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson.
