BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. - Mr. George Francis Quinn Jr., age 78, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 in Atlanta from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mr. Quinn was born on February 2, 1937 in New York, New York, the son of the late George F. Quinn and the late Margaret Higgins Quinn. He was a veteran of the US Army. George was a member of the Knights of Columbus and had served as Grand Knight at St. Mary's on the Hill Catholic Church in Augusta. He was very active in the Augusta community for over thirty years. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. George was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Surviving Mr. Quinn are his loving wife and best friend of fifty-five years, Carroll Mulherin Quinn of Blairsville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Beth Crew of Calhoun, Kayce and Bill Crow of Stuart, FL; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Kathy Quinn of Stuart, Bill and Kathee Quinn of Augusta, Rich and Barb Quinn of Stuart; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margie and Ron Burke, Diane and Bill Hoffman, all of Summer Glen, FL; seven grandchildren, Jenny Bunce, Cailie Crew, Caroline and Matt Lawson, Laura Alyssa Crew, Kory Crawford, Jay Crow, Ivy Davies; five great-grandchildren, Hope and Liam Bunce, Rowan Duval, Carli and Jayden Davies; many other relatives and friends also survive. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 am from St. Francis of Assisi with Father Juan Areiza officiating. Special music will be presented by Ron Gaucher. Flowers are accepted, or if you wish, donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in memory of Mr. Quinn. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-6:30 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
