AUGUSTA, Ga. - Gladys Kirkland Helmly, 94, wife of the late Robert Fred Helmly, entered into rest Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with Reverend John Kilpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Mrs. Helmly, daughter of the late Garnett and Martha Baldowski Kirkland, was a homemaker and a charter member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Faye Wylds and Barbara Laughlin, and by her grandson, Reverend Todd Wylds. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Duggan and her husband, James, of Arlington, TX; her grandchildren, John Wylds, Jr., Angela Etterle, Stacy Laughlin, Jerry Laughlin, Jr., Kymberly Horton, and James Duggan, Jr.; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her son-in-law, Lawton Wylds, of Augusta; and her sisters, June Bromley and Martha Ann Anderson, both of Hephzibah. Pallbearers will be John Wylds, Jerry Laughlin, Jr., Danny Wylds, Paul Charette, Neal Euliano, Jr., and Josh Evans.
