LOUISVILLE, Ga. - Mrs. Gladys E. Thomas Tijan, 86, of Louisville, Ga., entered into rest on Thursday, August 4, 2016. Gladys was born to Addie Rachel and John Thomas Sr. of Sylvania, Ga., on July 14, 1930. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Louisville, Ga., where she was an outstanding member. Gladys donated her body to the Medical College of Georgia. Gladys and her deceased husband "Bob" owned and operated The Town Tavern, a local restaurant in downtown Louisville, Ga. Survivors include a sister, Addie Mae Helms, Louisville; a brother, John Thomas Jr. of Vidette, Georgia; also two nieces, Betty Black of Millen Ga., Sandra Screws of Swainsboro, Ga., and several cousins. Special thanks to Robbie, Mary and Wanda. Their care and long hours have never been forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Louisville Ga. The family will receive friends and visitors in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church social hall following the memorial mass.
