AUGUSTA, Ga. - Glennis Baxter Lay Sr. Bick, 75, husband of 52 years to Parmie Shaw Lay, entered into rest Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 4:00 PM from Berlin United Methodist Church, 1518 Hephzibah-McBean Rd., Hephzibah, GA 30815, with Reverend Melissa Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Berlin United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Lay, a native of Arley, Alabama, lived in Florida before making his home in Georgia. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict He was an avid outdoorsman and master carpenter. He attended both St. John United Methodist Church and Berlin United Methodist Church. His sense of humor and gentle heart will be missed by all that knew him. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Joseph Blanchard (Razia), of Long Beach, MS, and Glenn Lay (Susan), of Hephzibah; his brothers, Bud Lay, of Texas, Royce Lay and Bim Lay, both of Florida. He was also blessed with five grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Lay, Larry Lay, Barry Lay, Michael Shaw, Kenny Cawley, and Mike McMann.
