EVANS, Ga. - Funeral Services for Mr. Harry T. Emmette, 82, of Fernbrook Crossing, Evans, Georgia, who entered into rest January 6, 2015, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Dr. Mark Riser and Dr. E. Finley Limehouse officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Park. Mr. Emmette was a native of Lyman, South Carolina, a former resident of Beech Island for 46 years, having made Evans his recent home. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and retired from Colonial Pipeline Company with 30 years of service. Mr. Emmette was a member of Matlock Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Choir, the Brotherhood and the Men's Sunday School Class and was a member of the Andrews Masonic Lodge. He was a former member of Heights Baptist Church where he served as the Choir Director. He was preceded in death by a son, David T. Emmette and two granddaughters, Kathryn Goodman and Jessica Day Murphy. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Cholena Emmette; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Connie Emmette, Evans; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Lynn and Tom Twitty, Augusta and Laurie and Brooks Smith, North Augusta; a daughter-in-law, Robin Emmette McGee, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Dannon Baker, Drew Emmette, Shanna Alexander and Amy Smith; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Goodman and Caleb Goodman; three sisters, Mildred Heaton, Atlanta, Georgia and Sybil Taylor and Linda Payne, both of Lyman, South Carolina. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Men's Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
