Funeral Services for Mr. Harry Melvin Jasper, 75, who entered into rest May 30, 2017, will be conducted Friday at 11 o'clock from the First Baptist Church of Jackson. Rev. Marion Britton officiating. Interment in Sunset Hill Cemetery, North Augusta, SC with Full Military Honors.

Mr. Jasper was a native of Columbus, OH, a former resident of Augusta, GA, having made Jackson his home for the past 5 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson where he served on the Deacon Board and was a member of the Barraca Sunday School Class. Mr. Jasper was a retired U.S. Army Veteran with 20 years of service, having served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He enjoyed traveling and watching Braves baseball. Mr. Jasper will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and for having the heart of a servant. He was preceded in death by his former wife of 38 years, Judith Moore Jasper; his parents, Horace Huston and Loumetta Snyder Jasper; his brothers; Robert Jasper, Ralph Jasper, Howard Jasper and Clyde Jasper and his sister, Lois Jasper.

Survivors include his wife of 5 years, Dianne Jasper; two sons, Harry M. Jasper, II (Gena), Augusta, GA, Jake Williams (Pam), Hephzibah, GA; four daughters, Beth Moore Smith (Bryan), Ridge Spring, SC, Christina Kennedy, Hephibah, GA, Jennifer Hendrix, Washington, GA, Heather Weathers (David) Augusta, GA; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Jasper, Carolyn Shaw Jasper and Elizabeth Jasper.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Barraca Sunday School Class, American Legion Post 97 and his grandsons, Casey Baxley, Vernon Weathers, Thomas Johnson, David Johnson, Austin Hendrix, Paul Hiett and Justin Maddox.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
