HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Henrietta Rebecca Cooper Avery, 62, of Hephzibah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Uni-Health Post-Acute Care. She was the oldest of three daughters born to her parents, the late Henry and Mildred Cooper. Henrietta s husband Daniel E. Avery, Jr. and her one and only child, Robert A. Barney Law, Jr. preceded her in death. Henrietta was a 1969 graduate of T.W. Josey High School in Augusta, Ga. She was employed for several years as a switchboard operator at former Southern Bell and MCG; the State of Georgia, DFCS, the Georgia Dept. of Labor; and before she retired, Wal-Mart, Inc. Henrietta is survived by two loving and devoted sisters, Brenda Dianne Cooper Jason and Saundra (David) Burns, both of Augusta, Ga.; grandson, Devante Clairborne of New Orleans, La.; two great-grandchildren; aunt, Earnestine Cooper Plummer of Jacksonville, Fl.; two devoted nieces, Erica J. Nesbitt and Kendra Jason both of Charlotte, N.C.; four nephews, Walter R. Bridges II and Jeremy Harris both of Augusta, GA, Eric V. Bridges, Afghanistan and Rodney C. Jason, Jr. of Long Beach, Miss; great nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Mrs. Florence Maris of Augusta, GA. brother-in-law, Kenny (Renee) Avery of Jacksonville, FL; cousins, devoted friends,Melinda Styles, Deidra Roberson, Monica Law, Rev. Larry Fryer, Grady Allen, Tony Mitchum, Gregory Gordon, Kristopher Stringer-Shea and many sorrowing friends. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013, 11:00 A.M. at Hudson Memorial C.M.E. Church, 2 Taylor St., Augusta, Ga., Rev. Larry Fryer presiding.
