AUGUSTA, Ga. - After an extended illness without warning, Trustee Henry Bussey spread his wings and flew quietly from among his family s nest. On April 3, 2015, he encountered another transition of life from labor to reward. Trustee Bussey was the son of the late Henry and Susie Mae Bussey. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ in his life and became a member of Second Hopeful Baptist Church. He later joined First Mount Moriah Baptist Church under Christian experience. He had a great love for his church family and pastor. He retired from the V.A. Medical Hospital after 28 years of dedicated service. On many occasions he was the recipient of certificates and rewards for his work, including being Employee of the Month. Trustee Bussey leaves his wife of fifty years, Mrs. Sarah Bussey; oldest daughter, Frederica Bussey; son, Henry Lewis Bussey, Jr., youngest daughter, Julia Bussey; two grandchildren, Brandon Bussey and Dominique Bussey; one grandchild, Jasmine Bussey; four brothers: Charles Bussey, Michael Bussey, Rev. Marvin Bussey and Larry (Vera) Bussey; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and church friends. The funeral services will be on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Hopeful Baptist Church in Hephzibah, GA with Rev. Rayford W. Roundtree Jr. officiating. The funeral procession will leave the home of his wife and children at 3619 Bremen Drive (Pepperidge), Augusta, Georgia at 10:00 a.m.
