AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Henry Eddie Kenon, husband of the late Myrtis Herrington Kenon, entered into rest Friday, February 12, 2016, The Place at Deans Bridge. Mr. Kenon received his early education in Gadsden County. He served his country by enlisting with the United States Army and served during WWII. He worked as the Comptroller with the Long Island Medical College in Brooklyn, New York until retirement. Mr. Kenon enjoyed working with RSVP- Retired Seniors Volunteer Program to share his life experiences. He was an active member of Ebenezer Rock Baptist Church where he served as Treasurer and Trustee. He leaves to cherish fond loving memories with his stepdaughter, Annette (Robert) Hooks; stepsons, John Pierce and Laurence (Velma) Pierce; nieces, Lillie Dell McCall and Vivian Grice and a host of cousins and dearly beloved friends. Funeral services will be 11:00am, Saturday, February 20, 2016, Kinsey & Walton Chapel, with Bishop Angelo Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Rock Baptist Church cemetery with military honors. Mr. Kenon may be viewed today (Friday) from 2 to 6:00pm at Kinsey & Walton Funeral Home, Inc., 3618 Peach Orchard Road. (706) 790-8858
