NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Graveside Services for Mr. Hugh F. McKie, 78, of Sidney Court, North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest May 30, 2016, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock in Magnolia Cemetery. Reverend Doctor George Robertson officiating. Mr. McKie was a native of Augusta, having made North Augusta his home for the past 41 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Augusta and the Trinity Sunday School Class. Mr. McKie was a graduate of the Class of 1955 of the Academy of Richmond County, a 1959 graduate of Carson-Newman College and received his Master's Degree from the University of South Carolina. He was retired from the South Carolina Department of Education and was a former High School Athletic Director and Coach in South Carolina and Georgia Schools and also was a former Group Personnel Director for the Belk-Howard and Belk-Robinson Stores. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Kay Kearsey McKie; a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Melanie McKie, Sr., Camden, South Carolina; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Rick Meyer, North Augusta and Lea and Mike Andress, Burlington, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Ron (Amanda) McKie, Jr., Trey (Ashley) Meyer, Melissa Anne McKie, Sarah Lea Meyer, Kay Elizabeth Meyer, Stephen Clardy Andress, Luke McKie Andress and Lydia Mae Andress; two great grandchildren, Aria McKie and Paisley Meyer. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Trinity Sunday School Class. Active Pallbearers will be Ron McKie, Jr., Trey Meyer, Stephen Andress, Luke Andress, Hunter Baggs and Bob Inglett. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
