Irene Lois Nygaard Beasley, 82, died January 14, 2017 after a long and devastating battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born in Crosby, North Dakota on October 5, 1934 and was one of nine children of John and Olga Nygaard. She moved to Georgia in 1958 with her husband, Manning Beasley, Jr, who predeceased her in 1983.

Preceding her in death were her father and mother, her husband, and sisters Julane Haugland and Luella Oien.

Irene is survived by her two children, Grant (Rhonda) Beasley of Rock Spring, GA and Dianne (Steve) Keen and grandson Pierce of Juliette, GA and grandchildren Lance Keen, Travis (Sarah) Keen (and great-grandson Grady); Matt (Ashley) and Jacob (Kristen) Hampton (and great-grandson James); sisters Avis Dissell, Ethel Spooner and brothers Julian, Vernon, Lloyd and John Nygaard, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Please do not send flowers. If you wish to honor the legacy of Irene, do something kind for someone in need.

Burial will be private. A celebration of Irene's life will be held at the First Baptist Church social hall in Louisville, Georgia on Friday, January 20 from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. All are welcome to join and share their stories and memories of Irene.
