EVANS, Ga. - Mr. J. Brian Montgomery, 43, beloved husband of Michelle Adams Montgomery, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at West Acres Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Harmon officiating. Mr. Montgomery, a native of Augusta, was a 1991 graduate of Evans High School, who went on to obtain a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Political Science from Augusta College in 1995. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing the guitar and was a Georgia Dog fan. He had been employed by Asco Valve and Kennemetal/Greenfield before his present job as Operations Supervisor at Milsco in Thomson, Ga. He was the founder of Friends for Keri, a foundation to honor his friend's daughter who had ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig disease. In addition to his wife, Michelle, he is survived by his son, William Davis Montgomery; his daughters, Haley Christine Montgomery and Sydney Theresa Labanosky; his father, William Jerry Montgomery; his mother, Gwen Durden Lane (Bob); his brothers and sisters, Brian Travis Lane, Brian Patrick Simpson, Julie Montgomery Streets, Victoria Peyton Montgomery and Shelly Lane Saunier; his grandmother, Angel L. Durden; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Al Durden; his paternal grandparents, William Bethel Montgomery and Agnes Tarvin Goodman; and his step-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Lane, Sr. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends for Keri and Brian, c/o Wells Fargo, 4363 Washington Road, Evans, Ga. 30809. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at West Acres Baptist Church.
