EVANS, Ga. - Mr. James Willie Crafton, 102, entered into rest December 17, 2014 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell L. Brisco officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Crafton was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and attended Hopewell Baptist Church, Clarks Hill, SC. He was an army veteran who served in WWII and was a Medic with the MASH Unit 3440 in the Korean War. He was an avid farmer, growing assorted vegetables and manufactured his beloved sugar cane syrup. He would share his knowledge and wisdom with anyone who would listen. He was the pillar of his family and he will be missed by many. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Mattie Crafton and Mamie Jo Crafton Pollard; two nieces, Patricia Crafton and Shari C. Brothers; six nephews, Eddie Mackie, Wayne T. Crafton, Col. Wilson D. Crafton, Paul Eubanks III, Willie Crafton and Walter Crafton; a host of other family and friends. Friends may call the funeral home after 2 p.m. today. G. L.
