Funeral Services for Mr. James Lee Cunningham, 76, who entered into rest April 17, 2017, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Posey Funeral Chapel. Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating. Interment will be private.

Mr. Cunningham was a native of Illinois, having made Aiken County his home for the past 7 years. He retired as a Sr. Information Systems Management Specialist with the US Government after nearly 45 years of service. During his career, Mr. Cunningham had the opportunity to live and work in Germany for more than 20 years. He enjoyed traveling, playing pool, and spending time with his family. Mr. Cunningham was known for his incredible sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Marie Ruth Cunningham; three daughters, Lori Vanscyoc (Loren), Eureka, IL, Debi Cunningham, Aiken, SC and Rebecca Cunningham, Bowie, MD; three sons, Christopher Fitzgerald, Evans, GA, Adam Fitzgerald (Rachel Burnette), Arlington, VA, and Sean Fitzgerald (Shelby), Normal, IL; a sister, Rosemary McBeath (Bill), Pontiac, IL; a brother, Harold Cunningham (Marilyn), Pontiac, IL; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
