Hobbs-Cooper AUGUSTA, Ga. - Janie Mae Hobbs-Cooper was born July 24, 1951, in Augusta, Georgia to the late Nazzie and Maggie Hobbs. She transitioned from mortally to immortally on July 29, 2016 at University Hospital. She graduated from Lucy Craft Laney High School in Augusta. Mrs. Cooper was united in marriage to Paul Cooper. To this union three children were born. She was a homemaker and caregiver. She was humble, sweet and she loved the Lord. She loved to bake cakes, pies and anything sweet. Janie was baptized on April 15, 1966 at Beulah Grove by Pastor B.I. Vernon. She was preceded in death by: sister, Brenda Hobbs; father and mother, Nazzie and Maggie Hobbs. Left to cherish her memories are: three children, Nicole Cooper, Anthony Cooper and Keviea Cooper; siblings: Sandra Hobbs, Denise Allen of Augusta, and Sheldon (Keisha) Bryant of North Augusta, SC; seven grandchildren: Keon Cooper, Philnishia Cooper, Kamia Cooper, Phillip Walters, Jaylin Cooper, E'lonjai Cooper, Ava Johnson; and a host of family and friends. Memorial service will be held Thursday, August 4, 2016, 2:30PM at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial, 314 Laney Walker Blvd., Augusta, GA 30901.
