NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Jerry Abbey, 73, beloved husband of forty-seven years to Mrs. Evadean Teagle Abbey, entered into rest on Thursday, March 12, 2015. Born in and a resident of Jackson, MI, until twenty-five years ago, he was a son of the late Russell and Bernice Abbey. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Jerry had been formerly employed by Clark Equipment Company and was also a Greeter at Walmart. He loved the outdoors and crafting. In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Brian Abbey, Jackson, MI and Karen Abbey, North Augusta, SC; sisters, Betty Holloway, Adrian, MI and Joyce Sisko, Jackson, MI; granddaughter, Tonya Knoblett and great-grandchildren, Jaylin and Brooke Knoblett. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015, at 3 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC, with Pastor Earl Carter officiating. Visit to share memories and leave a message of condolence for the family. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
