ORANGEBURG, S.C. - Jesse Claude Eargle entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the age of 66. Jesse was born May 10, 1950, a native of Jackson, SC, and lived with his wife, Beverly, in Orangeburg, SC for the last 30 years. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Orangeburg, SC. Burial will be held in Sunnyside Cemetery, Orangeburg, SC. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home in Orangeburg, SC. Jesse spent his entire career working for the school he loved with all of his heart, Clemson University. Before retiring he was last the Regional Extension Director for the Savannah Valley Region. Jesse holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and a Master of Agriculture from Clemson University and was President of the Alumni National Council. Jesse loved to golf and worked at The Masters Tournament in Augusta, GA for 50 consecutive years, a tradition his two sons carry on to this day. Jesse was a tireless public servant and found such joy in helping others. In addition to service in the United States Army, he was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Orangeburg, Past President of the Orangeburg County Chamber of Commerce, Board Member for The Regional Medical Center Foundation, Rotary Club member and Sunday School Teacher. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beverly Covar Eargle, sons, Jason Ryan Eargle and Austin Lee Eargle of Mt. Pleasant, SC (Sarah Donaldson Eargle) and grandson, Whitner Lee Eargle of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He is also survived by his brother, David Ray Eargle (Jacqueline Lane Eargle) of North Augusta, SC and niece, Karla Rae Eargle of Rock Hill, SC. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Norman Trocky Covar, sister-in-law, Nina Wanninger Covar, nephews, Norman Bryan Covar (Katie Hucko Covar) and Marcus Paul Covar (Rachel McKie Covar). He was predeceased by his loving father, Herbert Ray Eargle and caring mother, Corinne Bell Eargle. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 1240 Russell Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115.
