JACKSON, S.C. - Mr. Jimmy Hopkins, 64, of 512 Highland Circle, Jackson, passed away peacefully at his home on August 29, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Washington, GA, Jimmy lived and worked in the greater Augusta area his entire life. A skilled tradesman during his working life, Jimmy had been a small business owner; worked as a Supervisor at the Savannah River Site; was Maintenance Manager for Broom's Trucking; and most recently retired from the East Central Regional Hospital after 17 years as Assistant Maintenance Director. A true outdoorsman, Jimmy was an avid fisherman, hunter, boater and camping enthusiast. He was passionate about immediate and extended family and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them, whether locally or in a distant location. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Lola Scruggs Hopkins; children, David Hopkins (Faith), Tryon Hopkins (Jackie), Stacy Stallings, and Clayton Stallings; brothers Lee Hopkins (Terisa) and Tommy Hopkins (Sabra); and seven grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of the family.
