EVANS, Ga. - John Royce Allen, 67, husband of 41 years to Carol Teasley Allen, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:30p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Platt's Funeral Home Belair Rd. Chapel with Elder Dwayne Hooven officiating. Burial will be private. Royce was a born in Dublin, GA to Rufus and Corene Allen. He worked for Georgia Bank and Trust as a Mortgage Loan Officer. Royce was a member of the National Mortgage Bankers Association and a member and past president of the Augusta Mortgage Bankers Association. He was also a member of the Metro Augusta Home Builders Association and an associate member of the Augusta Board of Realtors. Royce was a family man who was devoted to his wife and loved to brag on his children and grandchildren. He was a true friend to many. Royce was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Royce loved his church and its members and loved to cook ribs on his Big Green Egg to take on Eating Sunday. Royce also enjoyed cooking boiled peanuts for his family and friends. In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons; Scott Allen (Lea) of Dublin, GA, John Allen of Martinez, GA, one daughter; Jennifer Tiller (Randy) Evans, GA, one brother; Julian Allen (Martha) of Hephzibah, GA, two sisters; Edna Strickland (Dan) of Pembroke, GA, Sara Bell of Hardwick, GA, sister in law, Jewel Allen of Martinez, GA, eight grandchildren; Tony Allen, Brook Allen, Breanna Allen, Spencer Doyle, Trey Morris, Will Tiller, Allen Morris, Grace Tiller, and numerous nieces and nephews. Royce was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Morgan Allen. Included in the family is his lifelong special friend, Tom and Bobbie McLaughlin and their son Chris. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the funeral home.
