LEXINGTON, S.C. - Dr. John Barber Butler, 61, husband of Lorraine Harp Butler, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Self Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 30, 2015 in the Chapel of Rowland Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park. A dentist by profession his highest priority was service to his Lord through loving his family and everyone else around him. A graduate of LaGrange College and the Medical College of Georgia, his own proudest accomplishment was a small plot of land called "God's Garden" where he and his wife spent countless hours singing in the garden and working in the orchard to help provide food for those in need. He was a devoted husband to Lorraine and devoted father to his daughter, Rebecca Jane Biasiny and her husband, Matt Biasiny, and a granddaughter, Cecilia Mae Biasiny, both of Evans, GA. Other survivors include his in-laws, Marion and Vicki Harp of North Augusta, SC, Mary Jane and Joel Thacker of North Augusta, SC and Joan and Hinton Crawford of New Providence Forge, VA; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening, Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Derrick Thacker, Carl Gay, Jonathan Crawford, Matthew Crawford, T.J. Kaszas, and Tyler Kaszas.
