AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Lord called his faithful servant home, Mr. Jordan Lewis Wright, on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. He was born in Harrisburg, PA to the late Edith Pine and Nathan Wright. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Marie Dickerson Wright, for 46 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for twenty years and continued his service as a Department of the Army civilian for another twenty-three years where he held the position of Communications Specialist upon his retirement. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for over forty years, where he faithfully served on the Deacon Board, the Credit Union Board, the Men's Choir and the Sanctuary Choir. Homegoing services will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. from Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1223 Laney Walker Boulevard, Augusta, with Reverend Dr. Charles E. Goodman, Jr., pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Those left to cherish his memory: his wife, Marie Dickerson Wright; his children, Darlene (Matthew) Cooley, Marylyn (Greg) Taylor, Carmen Jackson (deceased) and Elias (Debbie) Burton, Jr.; son-in-law, David Jackson; grandchildren, Jeannie Crosson, Davin Jackson, Michael Horne, Jr., Christopher Wright, Rico Partlow; grandniece, Stephanie (Wayne) Hadley; grandnephew, Dominic (Wanda) Mack; and a host of relatives and friends.
