AUGUSTA, Ga. - Joseph D. Ansley entered into rest on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. He was born on November 13, 1922, to the late Samuel Joseph Ansley and Jessie D. Smith Ansley. He served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed being a repairman, walking, and reading, especially his Bible. He had a passion for flying. He held a pilot's license for over fifty years and piloted recreationally whenever he could. He is also preceded in death by his sons, Roger Dale Ansley and Timothy Wayne Ansley. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Elizabeth Vinson Ansley; his daughters, Janet Ansley and Sheryl Youngblood; his sons, Michael Ansley and Chris Ansley; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm, Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Lumpkin Road. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906. Graveside services will immediately follow at West View Cemetery.
